Design & Manufacture

We define the solution you need and deliver it in production volumes.

We do not undertake execution-only manufacturing.

We take responsibility for solving the problem and delivering the answer.

The Problem

When this model is needed

Many organisations build complex primary systems (e.g., aircraft, vehicles, platforms) but cannot simply buy the ancillary products they depend on. These products:

  • do not exist off the shelf

  • are essential to overall delivery

  • carry real risk if unresolved

  • require decisions, not options

Trying to produce these with existing teams or facilities distorts capacity, reduces focus, and increases delivery risk.

What We Do

Our role in D&M

At Corcoran Yates we take responsibility for both defining the solution and delivering it.

This includes:

  • finalising the solution when none exists

  • turning decisions into repeatable outcomes

  • securing and controlling the supply chain

  • managing assembly, QA, and delivery

  • leading the programme with accountability

One operator. One plan. One set of consequences.

This is not execution-only work. We do not simply build what someone else decided.

    We own the answer.

When D&M Is the Right Model

Use D&M when:

  • you have a complex physical product that cannot be bought off the shelf

  • you need low- to mid-volume production reliably

  • the environment is regulated or high consequence

  • you value certainty of delivery over minimising unit cost

If your main concern is only “unit price”, we are unlikely to be the right fit.

What You Get

Single point of accountability

When you work with us on a D&M programme, you should expect:

  • a predictable delivery window

  • no permanent distortion to your internal headcount

  • no compromise on facility readiness

  • clear accountability for delivery and outcomes

We deliver the solution — organisationally and technically.

Why This Matters

Without a model like this, ancillary products tend to:

  • languish in overload queues

  • get designed in isolation

  • fail late in integration

  • drive cost and programme delay

Our approach removes that risk before it crystallises.
